Nannies on Call: Celebrating 25 Years of Care
This month, Nannies on Call celebrates 25 years in business, and we want to take a moment to say thank you.
How It Started
I started Nannies on Call in 2001 because I saw a need for quality, trustworthy, and reliable childcare in Vancouver. At that time, there was no reliable on-call childcare in Vancouver that families could trust. In the years that followed, we saw a need beyond Vancouver and expanded to Calgary, then Toronto, and finally Ottawa.
When I started Nannies on Call, my own daughters were just 3 and 5 years old, and the agency has grown up right next to them like an additional sibling. Today, Nannies on Call, like my own children, is a fully grown adult. With my oldest daughter now married and expecting her first baby, it really feels like a full circle moment.

To our nannies, you are the best in the industry. Your professionalism, skill, dedication, and empathy are what built and kept the agency running for 25 years. The care you provide to children and families sets the standard in the nanny industry for what quality childcare should be.
To the families we’ve had the privilege of working with, thank you for your trust. Thank you for valuing and respecting the nannies you welcome into your homes. By paying fair wages and treating nannies as professionals in their field, you have helped legitimize the industry and elevate the work they do.
To everyone who has been part of the office team for the last 25 years, thank you for being calm behind the scenes. You have carried the emotional weight with grace, absorbing frustration, stress, and pressure that comes with supporting families and caring for what matters most to them, their children. The ups and downs, the hard days, and the unseen labour have mattered more than you know. Your kindness and professionalism have been the glue that has held this company together.
The Evolution of Nannies on Call
In 2021, we took another important step forward with the launch of The Nanny Solution, creating a distinct brand focused on permanent placements while remaining rooted in the values that have guided Nannies on Call since 2001. That evolution was possible only because of the trust, experience, and community built over decades.
I am forever grateful for the relationships, trust, and shared commitment that have shaped this industry over the past 25 years. It has been an honour to be part of so many families’ lives and to work alongside such amazing caregivers and staff.
