An Extraordinary Company

Michelle Kelsey – Founder

In 2001, Michelle launched a small nanny referral service with one pager, five nannies and a determination to never find herself without reliable childcare. Nannies on Call is now a bi-coastal company with over 400 nannies.

In 2007 Business in Vancouver highlighted Michelle as one of Vancouver’s brightest stars in 40 UNDER 40, and in both 2008 and 2009 Nannies on Call was ranked #14 on the list of “Biggest Women-Owned Businesses in BC”. Michelle trains Pacific Assistance Dogs and lives in West Vancouver with her husband and two daughters.

Lisa Bruce – Placement Manager

With various experience in the Hospitality and Childcare industry, Lisa has been with NOC since April of 2007. She has since been involved in the expansion into other cities and acts as liaison between parents and nannies alike, helping to make great matches!
She has two young, active, busy children and an equally sports enthused husband. If life wasn’t busy enough, she also owns a daycare which she has ECE staff to help her run. In her spare time she loves to cook and entertain, read, go to movies (a true horror fanatic) and spending time with her family and friends.

Kate McGeachin – Placement Manager

Kate has travelled to more than 50 countries and we think that if we keep asking she might cave and sing the entire list to the Alphabet Song. Kate is originally from Ottawa – she holds a degree in Psychology and is a seasoned nanny herself, having held positions in Banff, Sydney and London. Kate returned to Canada after six years as an executive-level placement consultant for London-based Kensington Nannies – where we’re pretty sure they didn’t badger her to sing.

Aylish – Placement Assistant

Originally from Australia, Aylish joined our team when she arrived in Vancouver at the beginning of 2017. She has a vast background in education, and has worked in England and Australia as both a teacher and Assistant Principal.
Aylish has travelled extensively, and recently spent some time working in an orphanage in Ethiopia. She is very excited to explore Canada during her time here.
When Aylish isn’t at work (or travelling the world), she can be found at the beach or pool, exploring all the hidden gems in this city or curled up with a good book.

Brianne C – Vancouver Nanny Recruiter

Brianne’s love of travel is matched only by her joy in creating positive environments for children and students of all ages.  She has travelled extensively through Canada, the States, and Europe and has worked as a drama teacher, a professor, and even a stone mason!  Having lived in Montreal and Ontario for 7 years, she is happy to be back home in Vancouver and loves living right downtown, amidst all the hustle and bustle.  When not recruiting wonderful nannies for Vancouver and Victoria, she can usually be found in one of this city’s cinemas or used record stores, or at home making soup from scratch.

Jodie Hayes – Toronto Nanny Recruiter

From a very small town in Northern Ontario, Jodie made her way south to Toronto for the study of human behavior, Sociology …..and simply never left. She is a busy mom of two youngsters that spends most of her spare time volunteering for various low-income family and children’s causes. If you ever find yourself in her home, be prepared to see dancing of all styles and hear music, singing and plenty plenty plenty of laughter.

Silvana Felix – On Call Manager

A certified elementary school teacher, Silvana graduated from the University of Toronto with a Master of Teaching. Having spent her childhood traveling throughout North and South America, Silvana is able to happily chat with you in English, Spanish or (slightly less quick) French. Oh, and her voice is like a cozy hug.

Miriam Ennis – On Call Booking Agent

Miriam is originally from Toronto and has been living in Vancouver since 2010. She considers both cities home, though she much prefers the rain over snow! Miriam graduated from Trent University with a joint degree in Women’s Studies and Cultural Studies. Aside from talking on the phone, some of her favourite things are books (of the picture and non-picture variety), ghost stories, and making noises on her ukulele.

Kelly Carlucci – Go To Calgary Gal!

Originally from Arizona, Kelly graduated from Arizona State University with a Bachelor of Science degree in Family and Human Development. The newest member to the Nannies on Call team, Kelly is the go to gal for Calgary! Kelly is passionate about cooking; she will talk your ear off about food and the definition of a “great meal”. She also has a love for all furry creatures and is a big animal advocate!

Deborah Shure – Nanny Payroll Services Provider

Deborah graduated from the University of Waterloo with an Honours Bachelor of Mathematics.  After working several years in the financial industry in Toronto, she started NannyTaxTM, the premier nanny payroll service in Canada. With over 25 years of combined experience, Deborah and her team love to do what most family employers dread – domestic payroll. When she isn’t busy providing “nanny tax frustration relief”, Deborah is spending time with her husband and 3 kids doing all the things that supermoms do!
