Phipps Bakery Café is quite possibly the cutest little kid-friendly café –ever! – and it was just bustling with moms and tots when Nanny Erin paid it a visit. The décor is absolutely adorable! You will feel as though you have stepped right into a fairy tale luncheon, as your surroundings are trees, mosaics, a little white picket fence, and the most darling little tables in the world.

Patisserie La Cigogne is a busy little, elegant-looking café that Nanny Erin paid a visit to at about 10:00 a.m. on a Friday morning. On this particular Friday morning, the café was packed to the gills with families, and she had the pleasure of sitting next to a group of 3 moms and their daughters.

If you happen to smell the pleasant aroma of freshly baked foods wafting in the air as you leave story time at Mable’s Fables, it must be what’s coming out of the oven across the street at Café Jules Patisserie. Nanny Erin followed her senses and discovered a perfect place to bring children to, before or after story time. The delightful little French café boasts unbelievably mouth-watering fresh-bakery type snacks that taste as yummy as they smell.

We’re off to play at the Lab Cab Festival this weekend – and you should come too! This is the 5th year for Lab Cab – a free, two-day arts festival which takes place this Saturday and Sunday in every room, space, hallway and staircase (even washrooms) of the Factory Theatre. Local artists perform one-acts in theatre, dance, music, poetry, comedy, film and visual art. Founder and artistic director Aviva Armour-Ostroff tells us there will be oodles of kiddie-friendly entertainment – from shows to crafts. Most acts run a total of 15 – 20 minutes, perfect for the fidgety attention span.
