You cannot go wrong when you bring the family to Whistler’s The Core. The mantra on their website boasts: Climbing. Fitness. Strength. And, this is what they provide to everyone who walks in their doors.
The indoor playground offers a different kind of fun for children who are three years of age and older, rain, snow or shine. In addition to the playground are a bunch of books and a chalkboard…but this is only the beginning.
Children five years old and up can challenge themselves on the kid friendly climbing courses and rock climbing classes. For children who are aged 4 and up, there are supervised camps that you can actually drop your kids of at, and they last 4 hours, so you can head to the slopes while your children are learning how to climb if you choose.
The Monkey Wall is made for the kids – they can scale up the Ladder or play some of the organized climbing games, namely Traverse Tag and Climbing Twister. The Core hosts dinner with climbing (climb and dine) packages and promise that your kids will be tuckered out by the time you pick them up.
There is plenty of fun for the adults, too, if you are interested in staying at The Core while your kids attend the climbing camp or dine and climb. Fitness and yoga classes are scheduled indoors and, in the summertime, you can enjoy a trip to the mountains for some real rock climbing, wilderness tours and rock tours (The Core has all of the necessary permits). On top of all of this, The Core has an indoor rock climbing wall that is 5500 square feet! You are certain to find some major climbing challenges and push your climbing abilities to the extremes amidst the cracks, steep overhangs and slabs.
You can also have your kid’s birthday party at The Core and sit back while the kids climb in the adventure zone. The Core has a private party room and doesn’t charge an extra fee while you entertain party guests and the birthday child with cake and presents.
