Extraordinary Nanny of the Month – Toronto!

Nanny Alison was our very first official bi-coastal nanny – having worked at Nannies on Call Vancouver, Whistler and Toronto! Bringing cheer wherever she goes, Alison has been delighting families and children for more than six years with her enthusiasm and confidence. Alison is equally at home with newborns and school age children.

Rethink Breast Cancer presents the Little Sweetheart Monster’s Ball

Grab your hot mummies and devilish daddies for this year’s fashionably frightful Little Sweetheart Monster’s Ball where the hip turn horrid and the haunted turn haute. Watch the kids own the catwalk, carve up the dance floor and create creepy cupcakes while you suck back some ghoulish goodies, shop our trick or treat silent auction and take home some sinful swag!

Celebrate your 2.0 bliss in October at the Delta Chelsea

Blissdom Canada – “Canada’s first social media conference for women, by women” – is coming to Toronto October 27 – 29 with an opening keynote from Scott Stratten of Unmarketing. And we’re excited to announce our partnership as an official sponsor! To help foster the celebration of teaching, learning and inspiration during the conference at the Delta Chelsea Hotel, Nannies on Call is providing pre-registered group childcare at no cost for attendees during day sessions on the 28th and the 29th. Evening networkers will also be able to book private nannies at a special rate with 48 hours notice.

Hypnosis for Pregnancy and Childbirth Vancouver

In recent years, women have become more and more aware of the importance of taking exceptionally good care of themselves throughout their pregnancy as well as the advantages of being extremely well prepared for childbirth.

More and more women are taking control of their pregnancy and birthing experiences by choosing to explore the resources available to them and hypnosis is becoming an increasingly popular option. It’s natural, you can practice with your partner and alone and it provides an unparalleled level of calmness at a time when you need it most.

We’ll be at The Lab Cab Festival this weekend!

We’re off to play at the Lab Cab Festival this weekend – and you should come too! This is the 5th year for Lab Cab – a free, two-day arts festival which takes place this Saturday and Sunday in every room, space, hallway and staircase (even washrooms) of the Factory Theatre. Local artists perform one-acts in theatre, dance, music, poetry, comedy, film and visual art. Founder and artistic director Aviva Armour-Ostroff tells us there will be oodles of kiddie-friendly entertainment – from shows to crafts. Most acts run a total of 15 – 20 minutes, perfect for the fidgety attention span.

How to find a Nanny or Babysitter

I remember when parents had their choice of dozens of babysitters on our block. It was my job of choice from 13 – 17 years old. Those days are long gone. Teenagers today are no longer interested in babysitting on a Saturday night instead their schedules are filled with sports, school activities and a social calendar that rivals most adults.
